Perhaps the biggest piece of news I can give you is the addition of a boyfriend to my already full plate. What can I say? I’m a glutton for punishment...and he is tall, dark, and handsome, so what other choice did I have? I am enjoying the stage of butterflies as we continue to get to know one another and seek the Lord’s will in our relationship. He is truly a man of God and desires that our relationship reflect His glory and love. And he makes me laugh....a lot.
My Spanish continues to improve although I can always use prayer for more.
The greatest area in which I could use prayer is in our upcoming trip to Delta Amacuro. I have the privilege of traveling with 3 other high school teachers and 12 of our students to a river tribe called the Warao. We are aiding a missionary named Peter who has been working with the Warwao for over 20 years. We have skits, games, crafts, and music prepared and recently found out that there are over 200 kids this year. We will also be giving first aid, checking for lice, and hopefully doing some repairs and construction work.
Prayer Requests for the Trip:
1) Safety in transportation. We are taking an overnight bus and then have a 4 hour boat ride after. It will take 2 days to get there and safety is a large concern.
2) Servant hearts and attitudes. This includes me. :) Going on this trip definitely is out of my comfort zone and I know out of the comfort zone of many of my students.
3) Health. With 2 days of traveling, 4 days of sleeping in hammocks, and lots of work to be done, pray that students and teachers remain healthy.
4) Effective ministry. We’ve put a lot of work into this trip. Pray that God will use us to shine His light and that we will be a blessing to Peter.
Thanks for all your support and prayers. I truly love this country and its people and am so thankful for the opportunity to be here.
Pictures from a Drama we did in English club. They re-enacted a scene from Bride Wars.
Just a little love from my students.
Thanks for the update! I look forward to hearing about your missions trip : )
