Happy Month-aversary

It's official...me, Kayla, Alli, Pat, and Darcy (the newbies) have lived in Caracas for an entire month. Crazy! This is currently the longest I have lived outside the U.S. I feel like I should be analyzing the last four weeks...How is the transition going? Am I homesick? Am I in denial? To all that I say...God is faithful. I love it here and know with certainty that God has brought me here. Although I am still figuring out exactly how He wants me to serve, my ministry right now is in class with my students. Please keep praying for opportunities with them.


We woke up today to a flooded kitchen. Kayla spent 15 minutes mopping it up and there are currently towels and a fan trying to soak up all the water. I also managed to spill my coffee all over the table and floor, which meant I didn't get to drink it. The up-side was that the towels were already soaked with water, so why not use them to mop up the coffee as well...score. Happy month-aversary!

This is post mopping. And with the humidity, it's difficult to dry anything here. 

We are celebrating our month-aversary tonight by having Minerva, the awesome preschool and kid's club coordinate at school, over to spend the night. We also have Youth Group tonight for the students. Tomorrow we are introducing Minerva to all our church friends and going on the teleferico up the Avila (it's like a suspended tram that goes up the mountain). Big plans...unfortunately this means Sunday will be spent solely planning. I'm behind once again.


On a different note, I would welcome any emails you'd like to send my way. This blog feels so impersonal, like I'm sending my thoughts out to the whole world.
