How I hate the Packing Process

Is it really possible to pack up a 22-year old girl's life into 2 suitcases and a rather large carry-on? I have successfully proven that it can be done. Now the real question...did I make it under the weight limit? You'll have to wait until the end of this to find out.

So I began the packing process officially on Saturday and spent most of my day vacuum-packing bags of clothes and layering my suitcase as efficiently as possible. I was getting excited when I realized how much space I really had and got a little too eager cramming in as much as possible. Then came the harsh reality....the more you put in, the more your suitcase weighs. Bummer!

So Sunday was spent repacking and parting with a few precious pairs of shoes and some clothing....all items were reassured that I would be back for them at Christmas. I was so excited, thinking I was finished...

Then I read online about carry-on size restrictions and realized I had jam-packed it too high to fit in an overhead compartment. So today Mom and I tried desperately to repack and realized that it just wasn't going to work. A phone call to the airlines later, I think I'll just live with the $50 weight overage charge. Thanks goodness it's over!

So much stuff!

There are like 4 pairs of pants, 2 sweatshirts, and 5 cardigans in that vacuum bag alone!

Finally packed and ready to go!
